A Little Slice of Kentucky
Bringing a little slice of the Bluegrass to you...
Rush Run Creek
We are Nikki and Brian McAllister, proud owners of Rush Run Farm. Here at the farm, we believe in nature's beautiful simplicity. Our farm is host to an organically grown herb garden including eight different varieties of Lavender (Munstead, Jean Davis, Vera, Miss Katherine, Sachet, Hidcote, Sarah, Grosso, and White Grosso), two varieties of Rosemary (Arp Rosemary and Madeline Hill Rosemary), and four varieties of mint (Kentucky Colonel Spearmint, Lavender Mint, Peppermint, and Orange Mint), These organically grown herbs are used to make our Kentucky handcrafted all-natural soaps. Stay tuned to watch our garden grow!
Our farm is 77 beautiful acres with rolling hills and valleys located in Owenton, Kentucky. Three creeks meander through the valleys creating a beautiful landscape. Approximately 5 acres of our farm is cleared and this is where our Herb Garden is located. Through the wooded areas on our farm lie miles of trails on which we enjoy hiking and exploring the wonders of nature. With the creeks and the constant bloom of different wildflowers, the farm is in constant change and it is truly wondrous exploring, unsure of what treasures await us around the next bend.
It is amazing taking what nature provides and turning it into something useful. Our garden is lovingly tended and brings much joy to our family. It is a wonderful thing watching how much the bees and butterflies love our garden too! They flutter and buzz around us as if we are not there. Our harvests have included lavender, mints, lemon balm, clary sage, lemongrass, rosemary, thyme, and oregano. Once harvested, we dry these herbs and use them to make our soaps.
Our Soap Shop features a variety of soaps including our Kentucky Signature Soaps: Mint Julep Soap and Horse Feed Soap. Some of our customer favorites are Peppermint Soap, Activated Charcoal Soap, Cocoa Butter & Goat’s Milk Soap, Lavender Soap, and Avocado Lime Soap. We use only the finest, purest, and most natural ingredients we can find, including USDA Certified Organic base oils. Every step of our soap making process has been carefully thought out to minimize any type of toxins being introduced. We want your soap to be as pure as can be.
Here in Kentucky, we have a unique heritage and defining character. We hope our store will bring a little slice of Kentucky to you!
